Disney announces new FX, Hulu series and more at Upfront

Disney announced what audiences will see in the company's future at the 2026 Disney Upfront presentation in New York City on Tuesday.

Ahead of the event, there was a special opening for the New York Stock Exchange.

Disney CEO Josh D'Amaro rang the opening bell in celebration of the big Disney Upfront event, which will give you a preview of the new TV and streaming shows coming in the next year.

Olivia Rodrigo closes Disney Upfront with electric performance

Olivia Rodrigo closed out the Disney Upfront with an electric performance of several of her hit songs, including "Drop Dead," "good 4 u," and "get him back!"

The singer was introduced to the stage by Jimmy Kimmel and Jane, his 11-year-old daughter.

Rodrigo later brought Jane onstage to sing at the very end of the show.

"Olivia Rodrigo: driving home 2 u," an original documentary, is streaming now on Disney+.

The Grammys are coming to ABC in 2027!

The Grammy Awards will air live on ABC from Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2027. The show will also stream on Disney+ and Hulu.

Nominations will be announced ahead of the telecast on Monday, Nov. 16, 2026.

The news was revealed today during the Disney Upfront presentation in New York City.

The upcoming ceremony marks a historic shift for the organization as the 2027 Grammy Awards will be the first ceremony to air on ABC since 1972, ushering in a new era for the most celebrated night in music.

"The GRAMMYS are all about celebrating the music that moves the world, and this moment is built on exactly that," said Harvey Mason jr., CEO of the GRAMMYS. "This is an exciting time for us as an organization - a new home and a bold new chapter for the GRAMMY Awards. We're just getting started and the best is yet to come."

Disney and The Country Music Association extend relationship through 2032

Disney and The Country Music Association have extended their agreement through 2032 for the CMA Awards, "CMA Fest," and "CMA Country Christmas."

As part of the new agreement, the CMA Awards will stream live on Disney+ for the first time ever, alongside its traditional broadcast on ABC, kicking off with "The 60th Annual CMA Awards" on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2026.

The six year extension builds on a 20-year collaboration with ABC.

"For two decades, Disney has been CMA's partner in celebrating excellence in Country Music and bringing its artists and storytelling to audiences around the world," says Sarah Trahern, CMA chief executive officer. "Extending our collaboration with Disney and expanding the show to livestream on Disney+ marks an exciting next step for CMA, allowing us to reach new audiences while continuing our role in elevating and shaping the genre."
